French Bakery

By Eddie Tobey France is a country well known for romance, food and wine. So what more can be more appetizing to a food lover than to try out the various cakes and bakes the French boast so much of? The French are famous for their breads, which they usually bake in the old-fashioned way. They not only make typical breads, but they also make bread rings, pre-sliced petite loaves for party trays and, of course, the famous baguettes. The specialty of the baguette lies in the fact that it is a steamed form of a skinny, oval bread. The carmelization process on the outside of the loaf is slowed down by steam, which enables the entire loaf of bread to continue expanding in the first few minutes of baking. This is how the holes and the wonderful texture are attained in the baguette. That is not the only reason the French use steam; they also use it because it gives the crust of the bread a shiny and crackly texture that everyone enjoys. So, if you take a genuine French baguette from the oven and let it cool, you can actually hear the crackling sound of the crust as shrinks back to its final size. Of course, besides the baguette, one can also find delicious muffins, scones, bars, brownies, cheesecakes, deep-dish cookies and tarts and cakes in the French bakery. There are different flavors of pastries available, like Strawberry Rhubarb and Raspberry muffins, Pumpkin and Vegan Brown Rice Crispy brownies, Blueberry-Raspberry and Cinnamon Currant scones, which are all among the favorites. As far as cookies, one can go for white and dark chocolate chip or frosted oatmeal raisin cookies. The list is endless; so the next time you wish to have a taste of France, just hop down to the closest French bakery. Bakery provides detailed information about bakery, bakery equipment, bakery for sale, bakery management and more. Bakery is the sister site of Wine Picnic Baskets. Reasons Not to Fight: It’s Not Necessary

By Jeff Herring Conflict is inevitable Conflict in love relationships is inevitable. It’s also necessary for a relationship because, if you have your own mind, you will sometimes see things differently. If you always see things exactly the same way, then one of you is not necessary. Being able to successfully handle the conflict of seeing things differently speaks to the strength of the relationship. Fighting is optional While conflict is inevitable and even necessary, fighting is a choice. One of the things that causes lots of fighting is beginning to see your partner as the enemy, someone you have to beat. Once you choose to see your spouse as an adversary to conquer, there is really not much good stuff that can follow. What to do instead Here’s brief list of what to do instead of fight: 1. Use the three Cs - Capitulate, Co-exist, Compromise. 2. Give up the right to be right - sometimes in a love relationship you can be right or be happy but not both. 3. Make the conflict or the problem the enemy instead of each other. The next time you are tempted to fight, pull out one of the above options and see what you can do istead. If you really want to take it up a level, use all three at once. Remember, while conflict is inevitable, fighting is optional. Tips On Growing Orchids

By Jake Kennedy The better way to grow orchids is also simple when you know how. One of the best ways to get great orchid bulbs or just ready to use flowers is to get in touch with a grower in your community. They will likely have better prices and better information on these wonderful flowers than will your local home improvement store or even gardening center, but how do you find an orchid grower in your community? There are a couple of good ways to locate a local orchid grower. One option just simply goes with the times. The Internet is a great way to find a grower in your community. Log on to your computer, go to your favorite search site, and look for “orchid grower” along with the name of your community. You should be able to find someone, but if not there are certainly other options. Another option is to check out community boards in your local home stores and garden centers. Often growers will post their information on these boards in hopes of not just getting business, but also in hopes of finding other people who love orchids. Either way, you are still getting in touch with a wealth of information on orchids that can help you. Finally, if all else fails, you can get in touch with an orchid grower that is not in your community. Bulbs actually ship well and you can get a great deal of information through the phone and email. You will be able to build a relationship and possibly save yourself some money along the way. If you want to plant orchids or simply learn more about them, an orchid grower is a much more personal and often more affordable way of going about that. They can provide you with bulbs, information, and even a camaraderie that you will likely not find in your local home store or gardening center. Like all delicate flowers, orchids should be looked after with extreme care. The best place to place them is in a non draughty window box or sill where they should get sunlight through the morning and into the afternoon. Note they should not be placed in direct line of the sun. Orchids should be re-potted every two years. The soil should be moist and able to retain this moisture. Water your orchids at least once per week, more in warmer weather and especially if you notice that the plant is drying out. This is common sense, really. Finding an orchid grower is one of the smarter ways to learn about this great little plant. Why not learn from someone who has been there and done it. The Internet Offers A Bright Side For Rockhounds and Treasure Hunters

By Sally Taylor I am not about to start asking people how the price of gas and the job and wage crunch is effecting their daily lives. It isn’t too hard to figure what it is doing for our hobbies, either. Face it when times are rough and money is scarce, it really puts a damper on wandering around the countryside. As depressing as the situation is, I thought it was about time to point out that something very good is going on for rockhounds around the world. That something good is the Internet. It used to take much time, effort, and money to do anything related to our hobbies. It took tons of gas other than that used just to get to a site. Finding information could sometimes be a major effort. Meeting people who were not local to share information with to save gas and time on trips was practically impossible even if you contacted local clubs elsewhere. If your travel schedule didn’t coincide with theirs, you were still pretty much on your own. Finding equipment could sometimes be a total nightmare, as could trying to get a specimen identified. Clubs had to do some major advertising just to let people know that they had something interesting going on and had to spend on mailing newsletters, too. The list is endless. But here we are in 2005 and we have the Internet. Now you can find rockhounds anywhere in the world to communicate with. No more guess work on trips. There are online merchants. No more days of hunting down your needed equipment. You can find pictures to help you learn about what things look like, and put up pictures to have others help identify your finds. You can have information of anything going on at your local clubs with the click of a button. Local clubs can post activities and email newsletters. This list, too, is endless. So, you can see that while times are tough, they could be one heck of a lot tougher than they are. I am not sure exactly how thrilled we can be about the ridiculous greed that is causing us the financial hardships we are experiencing, but we can feel a bit better about not being as cut off from our hobbies and recreations as we could be. 2005 Sally Taylor: Sal is an avid gem and treasure hunter, explorer, writer, and is the owner of http://www.rockhoundstation1.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Sally_Taylor http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Internet-Offers-A-Bright-Side-For-Rockhounds-and-Treasure-Hunters&id=106195 buy phentermine no prescription required buy phentermine us pharmacy buy phentermine with a mastercard phentermine diet pills by cod

Collecting Jack Daniel Memorabilia

By Glyn Farber Jack Daniel is a Tennessee whiskey distillery and brand known for its unique square bottles and black label, Old No.7 Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey. Their whiskey has stayed the same for more than 100 years and the company is based in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Some of the really older Jack Daniel memorabilia consist of stoneware jugs stenciled “Jack Daniel Whiskey Lynchburg, Tenn.” (c1865-1870). These jugs are about 15 inch high, glazed dark brown and sand and come in 1, 2 and 3 gallon capacity. Another type has a cream glaze, stenciled in dark blue on the jug “Jack Daniel Old Time Distillery Lynchburg, Tenn.” (c1880-1885). A third type is glazed dark brown over cream and stenciled “Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Lynchburg, Tenn.” (c1890-1895). Jack Daniel began using “Old No. 7″ as a product name in 1887 and mystery still surrounds its origin. Other Jack Daniel memorabilia include embossed and labeled glass whiskey bottles many of which have been reproduced by the company and made available to collectors. Old advertising printed in newspapers and magazines are very collectible. However, the early jugs, bottles and advertising are very hard to find. If you love Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey and want to turn your game room into a unique show place then decorate it with reproduction Jack Daniel Memorabilia. All Jack Daniel merchandise has the official Jack Daniel logo. Each piece is finely crafted and of high quality. What type of Jack Daniel reproduction memorabilia is available? Jack Daniel custom nostalgic mirrors are a perfect way to accessorize any room or office. These custom mirrors are offered in a variety of designs and sizes. Then you could then add a tournament style Jack Daniel game room dartboard. Other popular items include a pool table light, tin saloon signs, drinking glasses and shot glasses. You can even dress the part with clothing such as t-shirts, belt buckles, sunglasses and hats. Dont forget their famous southern barbecue sauce. Reproduction items can be found on the Jack Daniel web site. But why pay full retail when you can get new and used reproduction items on eBay at great auction prices. Marketing Myth #2: It Is Not Important To Know What You Don’t Know

By Mary Eule This is the most pervasive, far-reaching and detrimental marketing myth of them all! It is an equal-opportunity fantasy whose believers are corporate CEOs; entrepreneurs; male and female; young and old; rich and poor; tall and short; moms and pops; etc. It is also the most difficult one to correct because the patient doesnt know he/she is ill! It serves as the foundation for prejudice, ignorance and failure and influences all of the sufferers decisions and behaviors personally and professionally. Ironically, this myth often serves as the very basis for becoming an entrepreneur in the first place. Michael Gerber, in his classic book, The E-Myth, says that most small businesses are started by technicians (folks who are proficient at some skill) who have an entrepreneurial seizure. Just because they know how to do the work of the business does not mean that they know how to run a business that does that work. For example, just because a hair stylist knows how to cut hair, does not mean he/she can run a hair styling business. This is a classic case of not knowing what you dont know. For instance, any business run in the U.S. today has to understand how the following business requirements (just to name a few) impact them and how they must comply on a daily/monthly/yearly basis: Payroll taxes Workmens compensation Local and State Income Tax Laws Local and State Sales Tax Laws Business Licensing Profit and Loss Statements Overhead Expenses Financial Reporting Requirements Employee Management Human Resource Regulations OSHA Regulations Social Security, Medicare Benefits Withholding Taxes Actual costs of running a business Quarterly Tax Payments The problem arises when technicians assume that all they need to know is the work of the business, not how to run a business. The actual costs of owning and operating your own company are far greater than the expenses associated with your rent, office furniture, utilities, etc. Because of this many small business owners never earn a true profitone that allows their business to grow, and provide them sufficient income to enjoy the lifestyle they envisioned when they began. Essentially, theyve traded one job for another. Before they collected a paycheck, now they must earn a profit the two are not the same. They are responsible for paying themselves and well as all of their other business partners federal, state, city, and local governments; city municipalities; employees; suppliers, etc. Herein lays the trap Most entrepreneurs do not know what they dont know and go into their business thinking Im the best widget maker; therefore my business is bound to be successful! Statistics say otherwise. (To learn more about Michael Gerbers E-Myth theories visit his website at: www.emyth.com). The person who knows HOW will always have a job. The person who knows WHY will always be his boss. Alanis Morissette Then there are a group of people that I call know-it-alls . The business world is full of these people, and unfortunately they are their own worst enemies. Why? There are a myriad of specific reasons but they all begin with their reluctance and/or refusal to seek wise counsel. Essentially, they do not believe that its smart business to pay experts for their years of study, experience and expertise. For instance, just because they can write their own ad copy (i.e. it doesnt require a license or certificate) they think they should! These are the very same folks who would diagnose their own diseases and write their own prescriptions if it werent against the law! What they fail to see is that for every one dollar they spend paying experts, they potentially save five dollars in actual money and even more in wasted time; preventable mistakes; lost earnings and stress. However, marketing is not the only area these misguided know-it-alls reside. Although the industry certainly has more than its fair share (even though study after study confirms that a company is only as successful as its weakest skill) it is prevalent in every field. On the other hand, there are many more folks who are far from insufferable know-it-alls. They actively seek counsel, but sometimes simply dont know where to begin, who to contact or the right questions to ask! I experienced this firsthand as I began working on my website, (www.StrategicMarketingAdvisors.com). Tip I had no delusions that I was an expert in Internet marketing right from the start no problem. Yet, as I learned more about the process, I became more and more panicked. Cyberspace jargon is like a foreign language to me and the more I tried to do myself, the more lost I became. And it wasnt as though I did want the help! Quite the contrary but I was so lost that I didnt even understand what I really needed, let alone who to contact! Gratefully, I used my tried-and-true methodology and baby-steps process and found a wonderful coach who made all the difference! The philosophical concept is not difficult to grasp but identifying our own level of incompetence is another story all together. Like most things it begins with an open mind and heart; insatiable curiosity; careful research and a very large mirror! And what makes it even more challenging is the opposite fact There are many marketing strategies and tactics that even a beginner can use successfully. Im not suggesting that you hire an expert for everything! However, you must first learn one from the other. Its like trying to save a few bucks by changing your cars oil yourself Now this is not an overly complex task, and one even I can manage. But is it a smart thing to do? Think about whats involved you drive to the store; wait in line; ask questions; look at the merchandise; select the oil, pan, funnel; wait in line to check-out; pay the cashier $24.97; drive back home; try to jack up the car so you can get underneath it to put the pan in place; undo the screw; get some oil in the pan; get most of the oil on you; get the funnel and fill it with the new oil; figure out what to do with the old oil; close everything down; throw your oil-laden shirt in the trash; and take a shower. The cost? $24.97 in stuff; $1.32 in gas; $25.00 ruined shirt; 3.25 hours of your time; and $1,000,000 in frustration All this, when you could have had it done for you for $25.00!! Lesson learned: Know whats best left in the hands of professionals. Low cost is not always best cost! Oh, and by the way, never try to hang your own drywall either! Trust me on this one. However, there are times when doing it yourself is smart! If youve got better than average computer skills or design talents its easy to create things like business cards, letterhead and bill stuffers but please, unless youre an ad buyer by trade, do not buy, book or design any media (especially TV and radio) by yourself! But more about that later Classic Symptoms of a Myth #2 Believer They Dont have a marketing plan because their business, organization, industry, product, service, customers, location, you-name-it is different than anyone elses and they just dont need it Never seek out wise counsel on most things, more particularly relating to marketing insights Make facts fit beliefs Base decisions on broad assumptions which may not be true Never start with their customers needs because theyve never taken the time to find out what they are Conduct little, or no, research on customers, competition, and their marketplace Believe that all customers are worth getting, and all are worth keeping Dont differentiate they dont understand why very ordinary is very bad Latch onto a cool product without understanding the marketplace first Buy media from salespeople Think people need to be sold (No one wants to be sold anything but everyone loves to buy something) Reinvent the wheel Dont know how, or refuse to, borrow success from others Copyright 2005 Mary Eule Mary Eule specializes in helping small and medium-sized businesses get and keep profitable customers. Formerly a Fortune 500 marketing executive; founder of two successful small businesses and award-winning speaker, Ms. Eule is President of Strategic Marketing Advisors, LLC. and co-author of a new book, “Mandatory Marketing: Small Business Edition”. How To Manage Financial Debt From Graduate School

By Elizabeth Saas Choose To Attend The Most Affordable Graduate Program Possible Because the best way to manage financial debt of any kind is to avoid it in the first place, when you’re applying to graduate schools, keep the costs of various programs in mind. Of course, you want to have a high quality educational experience, but often you can receive the same great quality education from a variety of institutions at a variety of prices. If you’re like most people, you don’t have the luxury of paying out of pocket, and that means taking on some student loans. To minimize the amount of debt you incur, choose a graduate program that comes close to being at the intersection of the best educational experience at the lowest price. Determine whether or not you are eligible for any kind of scholarships, funding, or teaching assistantships? Depending on what you plan to study, you might qualify for some kind of financial award that will defray the cost of your education. Are you a superstar in your field? If so, there’s probably money out there that an organization is willing to give someone like you to make sure you pursue your graduate degree. Another way to help keep financial debt to a minimum is to seek teaching assistantship opportunities as a graduate student. As a teaching assistant, you will probably have all of your courses paid for in addition to getting a stipend. These stipends vary from school to school. Some may be small enough to necessitate taking on student loans. Others may be generous enough that a frugal graduate student could get by on stipend alone — albeit with the caveat that he or she doesn’t mind a diet rich in Ramen and an apartment with at least one roommate. In addition to what a teaching assistantship can do for your tuition bills, gaining teaching experience as a graduate student can be very useful to those who are undertaking degrees that eventually will lead to a career in academia. Borrow Only What You Need Whether or not you have found ways to minimize the cost of your education, every graduate student should live with the creed that he or she will borrow only what is necessary to get by during graduate school. The temptation might be great to take out as much as you can, but you should avoid it, because after you graduate, the six months of grace period you’re allowed will fly by almost as quickly as the interest on the loans you’ll have to repay can compound. Plan For The End Of The Grace Period Before You Graduate When you graduate, you will have six months before you’ll need to start repaying your loans. With the hectic pace of graduate school, this six months — the grace period — might seem like plenty of time to figure out how you’ll make your monthly payments. You will be in a much better position to take on the responsibility of those monthly payments if you have something lined up before you cross the graduation platform.
